IDC is proud to announce that Shaw Contract has become the official presenting partner of the IDC Regional Breakfast Program, which celebrates the significant contributions of Canadian design professionals and the impact their legacy continues to have on the interior design community. Impact Breakfast honourees are carefully selected by IDC’s nominations committee.

With Shaw Contract’s support, IDC hosted the first Regional Impact Breakfast in Toronto, at Arcadian Court in November 2023. The event featured Figure3 co-founders, Allan Guinan and Caroline Hughes, who were the first recipients of the Impact Breakfast Award. They were joined on the stage in conversation by DesignTO Artistic Director, Deborah Wang. Read more about the 2023 Toronto event.
Upon receiving the award, the honourees remarked: “To be acknowledged by our peers for contributions to our interior design industry is a very humbling experience. The quiet dedication of the many volunteers in IDC and the provincial associations has been instrumental in the growing strength of the Canadian interior design community. We are honoured to be recognized as participants in this dynamic and transformative industry.”
The IDC Regional Impact Breakfast will be hosted across the country, and the next Regional Impact Breakfast will be held in the West region in Vancouver on April 25, 2024. IDC Regional Impact Breakfast East will be hosted on May 28 in Nova Scotia, and IDC Regional Impact Breakfast Central will be hosted this fall. Nomination applications are open year-round.
