The Uplands Grand Opening set for nature first Courtice community
The much-anticipated grand opening of The Uplands Courtice, a spectacular new home community in the heart of suburban Courtice, is happening this September. That’s when home buyers will have the opportunity to purchase one of the first 70 contemporary townhouses to be released and learn about the idyllic lifestyle offered in this nature-first community.
The Uplands is set on rolling land at King Street and Darlington Blvd. in the GTA east next to conservation land and Farewell Creek. The community is located between Hwys. 2 and 401, just minutes from Oshawa to the west and Bowmanville to the east.
The Uplands has been thoughtfully designed to maximize homeowners’ enjoyment of the exclusive setting with its natural ravine and tranquil wooded trails. An entrance from The Uplands will connect residents directly to meandering paths and the Farewell Creek Trail that leads to Tooley’s Mill Park with its gazebo, site of many community events. Soon, a newly constructed trail will link Tooley’s Mill to Darlington Provincial Park and the Waterfront Trail along Lake Ontario.
The Uplands’ contemporary two-, three- and four-bedroom townhouses will introduce a new style of home design to Courtice. The modern towns have been crafted with meticulous attention to detail and will sit on beautifully landscaped streetscapes suited for strolling, biking or connecting with neighbours. Starting in the $500,000s, the architecturally inspired elevations include brick, stone and stucco facades with Energy Star premium vinyl large front and back windows to bring the outdoors in. Three different collections of townhomes, some with walk-outs and views of the ravine, will appeal to a diverse range of buyers.
Quality interior finishes at Uplands include airy nine-ft. four-in. ceilings on the main floor and nine-ft. ceilings on the second floor, smooth finished ceilings, contemporary flush panel doors, specially selected lever-style interior door handles, stained oak handrail and pickets, and stained oak veneer stringers and solid oak risers on the main staircase. Kitchens feature contemporary cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, combination microwave/range hood, double basin undermount sink and granite countertops, and islands (as per plan). The homes are constructed to save on energy, with superior levels of insulation, energy efficient windows, programmable thermostats and LED light fixtures.
Though the peaceful surroundings of The Uplands gives residents the sense of being away from it all, everything needed for daily life is easily accessible in Courtice. The Uplands residents will have a bakery, grocery store, LCBO, cafes and gastropub as well as clothing shops minutes from home. There are also larger shopping malls in Oshawa to the west and in Bowmanville to the east.
Everything from farmers’ markets to quaint boutiques and casual fare to fine dining venues is right in Courtice. Just minutes away are the Courtice Community Complex, Durham College, The University of Ontario Institute of Technology and Trent University’s satellite campus in Oshawa for continuing education. Quaint downtown Bowmanville is just a few minutes east. Golf courses and riding stables are also in the immediate area.
As part of the GTA, Courtice is ideally located with access to Hwys. 407 and 401 just five minutes away. With Hwy. 418 on schedule to open in 2020 and providing a north-south link between Hwys. 407 and 401, access will be even easier. The Oshawa GO and VIA station is less than 15 minutes away, making it easy to head east for a long weekend in Quebec City, Montreal or Ottawa, go further afield to the east coast for some R&R, or to travel west to Toronto for a play, concert or dinner. In fact, Courtice is the same convenient distance from Toronto as Hamilton and offers easy access to Canada and international destinations.
Visit the presentation centre, located on Hwy. 2 and Old Kingston Road in Courtice. The presentation centre is open from 1 p.m. to 6 pm. Monday to Wednesday, and from noon to 5 p.m. weekends. Closed holidays; Thursday and Friday by appointment.
