Here’s an item we originally planned to run in our Great Outdoors Issue but ran out of, um, storage space
Usually, a garden shed is a place to store small engines – chainsaws, lawn mowers, and the like. Englishman Kevin Nicks decided to flip convention on its head and mount his shed on an engine, an Audi RS4 to be specific.
“It is incredibly fast,” Nicks told the BBC. How fast? In early May he set a new Guinness World Record speed of 160 km/h (breaking his previous mark of 129 km/h) with his street legal ride.
Nicks has spent more than $20,000 on upgrades to your standard stationary building to earn his 15 minutes of fame, including air-conditioning, powered windows, and even a remote locking system.
