An iconic – some might say eyesore – home in Toronto’s Junction neighbourhood is about to be demolished, even though it has a heritage designation.

The home was constructed in 1905 by a local builder, who covered the exterior in reddish brown tiles with elaborate motifs. Heavy winds in early April caused a large section of the exterior wall to fall off. City inspectors recently deemed the building structurally unsound.
