Water wise, tankless toilets conserve up to 35,000 litres of water a year

Water wise, tankless toilets conserve up to 35,000 litres of water a year

Tankless toilets are a modern option for homeowners looking for a cost-effective solution for renovating or adding a new bathroom.

Their compact and streamlined aesthetic make them a great option for smaller bathrooms. They work differently from traditional toilets, so if you’re thinking about installing one in your home or cottage, make sure you choose the right product for your needs.

With a conventional toilet, the tank sits above the bowl to allow gravity to draw water down into the tank for use when the toilet is flushed, and then re-fills with water.

A tankless toilet has no tank because it does not need to reserve water for flushing. Instead, it is connected directly to your home’s existing plumbing system so that water enters the bowl at a high pressure when the toilet is flushed, pumping away the effluent and wastewater. An electric pump built into the toilet chamber helps power the flush instead of gravity.

The biggest advantage of tankless toilets is the efficiency with which they help homeowners save water. Some models even provide a dual-flush option to reduce consumption even further, giving you a watersaving solution unmatched by conventional toilets.

Other benefits include:

  • Space-saving compact, streamlined design
  • Pipes can be installed inside the wall or under the floor with minimal construction
  • Easy installation and minimal maintenance required

Did you know that Saniflo’s eco-friendly plumbing solutions, like the popular Sanicompact, can help homeowners save almost 35,000 litres of water per year?

The average toilet uses approximately 9.8 litres of water per flush. Assuming that each person uses four flushes per day that translates into roughly 14,300 litres per person per year. For a family of four, that’s more than 57,000 litres of water every year. Saniflo’s Sanicompact uses as little as 3.8 litres of water per flush, saving approximately 8,750 litres of water per person. For that same family of four, this would save their household approximately 35,000 litres of water per year!

The Sanicompact, along with many of Saniflo’s other plumbing solutions, is designed to be ecological throughout its lifecycle from installation to waste disposal.

The unit reduces water consumption though a contemporary, tankless design and dual-flush macerating system, making it perfect for the green minded user.

With simple installation requirements and easy set-up, the Sanicompact is a great solution for a half-bathroom, powder room, or to convert an under-used closet into an extra bathroom.

Sanibest Pro Grinder Handles Toughest Flushes

Sanibest Pro Grinder Handles Toughest Flushes

The powerful Sanibest Pro from Saniflo allows for a modern bathroom to be installed virtually anywhere. It contains a 1-horsepower bathroom grinder system that can easily handle the accidental flushing of sanitary articles, such as feminine products, baby wipes, dental floss, condoms, etc. In addition to the main toilet connection, the unit comes with two side inlets (one on each side) that allow for various possible sanitary fixture connections, including shower, sink, bathtub, etc. It also offers ready access to the enclosed main pump components.

Operating at 3,600 RPM (revolutions per minute) for rapid elimination of heavy-duty waste, the Sanibest Pro is designed for homes, as well as public restrooms in offices, schools, factories, restaurants and any other situation where flushing sanitary items might be a concern.

Constructed from hardened stainless steel, the grinder blade rotates against a stationary, perforated base plate, so that waste is quickly and easily dispersed through the base plate’s holes before being pumped into the 3/4-inch discharge line.

Plumber-friendly: A unique advantage of the Sanibest Pro is a removable service panel on the top of the unit, providing easy and direct access to the main pump components, without removing plumbing connections or disconnecting the unit from the toilet. The highly efficient, durable, induction motor has no gears or brushes to wear out, making it virtually maintenance-free.

“Because of the higher-horsepower motor and improved cutting power, there is no need for the service plumber to access the grinder blade inside the macerating unit,” explains Saniflo National Sales Manager Ross Evans. “The Sanibest Pro is still the only bathroom grinder system capable of handling virtually any sanitary item that has been accidentally flushed.”

Extra pumping power: Certified by CSA International for use in both Canada and the United States and IAPMO (UPC) listed, the Sanibest Pro pumps effluent higher and farther than other systems: up to 25 feet vertically when it is installed below the sewer line; or nearly 150 feet horizontally to the sewer stack or septic tank – or a lesser combination of these two distances. This extra pumping power provides home and building owners with greater flexibility in locating a new bathroom in relation to the soil stack or the septic tank.

THE SANIBEST PRO GRINDING TOILET SYSTEM IS A HEAVY- DUTY, POINT-OF-USE GRINDER PUMP FOR THE MOST DEMANDING OF TOILET APPLICATIONS

Quiet giant: While the heavy-duty grinder minimizes the risk of blockages, the unit employs the latest quiet technology designed to emit less noise and vibration. “Its operating volume – like other models in our ‘Quiet Range’ lineup – is very understated,” says Ross Evans. “Sound and vibration improvements reduce noise levels to nearly an afterthought.”

The Sanibest Pro comes fully preassembled for installation directly behind the accompanying, high-efficiency WaterSense rear outlet toilet; or behind a finished wall using the optional 18-inch extension pipe for applications where building owners desire the pump to be hidden.
