GO ALL-IN

Energy savings, better light quality, lower environmental impact and a 20-year lifespan are all reasons to go all in with LED lighting. LED bulbs use 85 per cent less energy and last 25 times longer than incandescent bulbs.

JUST HANG OUT

Save energy by skipping the dry-cycle. By replacing your drying loads with a drying rack, you can save approximately $160 (Canadian average) — and a whole lot of wool sweaters — each year.

TRY VEGGIE

The carbon footprint of Ikea’s veggie balls is 30 times lower compared to meat. Made only from vegetables, these treats are packed full of nutrition and rich flavour.

MULTI-TASK

Save on energy while you cook. Energy-saving appliances like induction cooktops, dishwashers and fridges that can help make a positive difference to the environment and help lower your energy bill. Simple changes such as using a steamer insert when you cook will help to lower your energy bill. Plus you can cook multiple items at once, which saves on your time too.

GO WITH THE LOW-FLOW

Water is a precious resource that we all share and we all play a part in conserving it. Ikea offers kitchen faucets that reduce consumption by up to 30 per cent, and bathroom faucets that reduce consumption by up to 50 per cent. Ikea has also improved the water efficiency of many of its dishwashers — they use 3.5 gallons of water and still get your dishes sparkly clean. All of Ikea’s low-flow faucets use 40 per cent less water than a standard faucet, saving the average Canadian family almost $80/year.

CUT THE WASTE

With Ikea 365+ you can cut your food waste in half, saving up to $800 a year. A removable grid in the bottom allows liquid and condensation to accumulate beneath the food, keeping it fresh longer. Plus you’ll waste less with a transparent lid that helps you see what’s inside the food container. Good for either the fridge or freezer.

GROW MORE

The clever, functional and decorative SOCKER provides a good environment for seeds to sprout and plants to grow, for a greener home.

STAY CHARGED

Rechargeable batteries can save a lot of energy for all your battery-operated devices. You’ll rarely have to buy new batteries, which is a much kinder alternative for the environment.

SORT THE WASTE

Recycling and preventing waste is something everybody can do at home. We can save money and re-purpose old things to become new things. Every municipality has its own sorting system, and that’s why Ikea has modular solutions to fit every household’s needs.
