Lego toying with new materials for its iconic bricks

Lego is trying to reinvent its iconic product. The company started in the 1930s as a manufacturer of wooden toys. The plastic bricks were first introduced in the 1950s. Currently made of acrylonitrile butadiene styrene – better known as ABS – Lego is experimenting with different materials in order to have all the bricks and figurines made of recycled or plant-based materials by 2030.
