The National Kitchen & Bath Awards gala event gives top honours to Ontario’s ever-growing talented interior design industry

Last year proved to be a stellar year for kitchen and bath design. To honour the outstanding work we saw in 2019, the industry’s best gathered at the Paramount Event Space in Woodbridge, Ontario on February 8th.

The National Kitchen and Bath Association’s (NKBA) Ontario Chapter gathers annually at their Awards Gala to celebrate the talented designers and their exceptional design projects from the previous year. The standout, winning designs must be both visually appealing, as well as fully functional and safe.

This year’s panel of judges, all certified designers (CKD, CBD, CKBD, CMKBD), past winners, and industry experts, would agree the entries both met and exceeded the criteria. Qualifying projects are scored based on the NKBA guidelines, safety and ergonomics, elements and principles of design, design planning, creativity and presentation. Awards are presented for design excellence and creativity within nine design categories, eight specialty categories including People’s Choice, plus the prestigious Pinnacle Award , which went to Dvira Ovadia of Dvira Interiors. This tribute represents the best of all entries and is selected from all the first-place winners.

The People’s Choice Award is given to the winner of a contest run by Homes Publishing Group. Select kitchens from the competition entries are nominated and voted upon by industry peers as well as the general public, receiving over 3,000 voters. This year’s winner was Dvira Ovadia , Dvira Interiors.

Both Homes Publishing and the NKBA Ontario Chapter are proud to feature this year’s award-winning designers and their respective designs with you.
