Annie Sloan: Trick-Of-The-Eye Transformations

topic of the articles

Breathe new life into your indoor/outdoor space with Chalk Paint by Annie Sloan and stencils. From a coat or two of colour to transform your chairs to stenciling a trick-of-the-eye tile-effect table or painting a plaster-effect wall, the project possibilities are endless.

Plaster effect wall: painted all over with Chalk Paint in Scandinavian Pink. Once dry, diluted Henrietta painted on in sections, and crumpled up paper used to rub on to the wet paint to remove areas (the Frottage technique). For the powdery look, a wash of Paloma added all over, and dabbed off using rags and newspaper.

Chairs painted with Chalk Paint in Florence, Graphite and Old White.

Table is painted all over with Chalk Paint in Old White, Tallulah stencil applied all over using Chalk Paint in Graphite and large stencil roller to create the look of tiles. To knock the pattern back a wash of Chalk Paint in Old White was applied.
