Remember that $30,000 boat-shaped tree house that a west-end Toronto resident had been ordered to tear down by the city? Well, the owner decided to appeal the city’s ruling to the Ontario Municipal Board and the OMB sided with him. In order to keep the structure standing, the owner, a contractor himself, agreed to make some minor modifications, including lowering it by about a metre and moving a portion back from the property line.
