South Coast Village
Resort-style living at Crystal Beach
Crystal Beach has changed over the last 50 years. Once home to the popular Crystal Beach amusement park, as well as hotels, the famous pier and big band entertainment, this once-happening tourist mecca drew tens of thousands of tourists to the shores of Lake Erie.
Today, Crystal Beach has a different vibe – it’s matured. The cyclone rollercoaster has long shut down, but the allure of the Caribbean-like sandy shores is still a highlight. Now there’s a more-relaxed atmosphere that focuses on a stress-free, coastal-inspired lifestyle.
Marz Homes has long recognized this coveted area, and introduces the third phase of their award-winning community – South Coast Village. Located steps from the beach, on once-was the amusement park’s parking lot, this community is perfectly positioned to take complete advantage of all the atmospheric elements of Crystal Beach. “We were so excited to watch the transformation of the neighbourhood over the past couple years, that we can’t wait to share our latest release,” says Dan Gabriele, president of Marz Homes. “The sense of community that we’re seeing develop amongst our homeowners, is the essence of small-town living. And, it’s been incredible to be a part of it.”
The attraction to Crystal Beach is clear. The town sits in the heart of the Niagara Peninsula, surrounded by UNESCO Biosphere conservation areas. In addition to one of the best beaches in Canada, outdoor activities in the area include summer cycling, canoeing and waterfront sports, as well as a network of hiking trails. Come winter, these same trails offer an abundance of paths for cross-country skiing. In order to reinvigorate the main beach, and reignite the nostalgia of the old Canadiana Pier, a new beach promenade is currently in the works.
A short drive down the Niagara Parkway is Niagara-on-the-Lake. Take in a show at the Shaw Festival, tour award-winning wineries, or hop across the border to Buffalo to visit the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, as well as a myriad of sports stadiums, restaurants and malls. There’s no shortage of things to do in Crystal Beach, or in the towns surrounding it.
The Nostalgia Series is the third phase of South Coast Village. Bunga/loft-style homes include a main-floor master bedroom, and are priced from the high $400,000s for floorplans starting at 1,760 square feet. The deep lots, oversized front porches and coastal-inspired architecture in phase 3, will complement the streetscapes established in the previous two phases.
The recipient of the Ontario Home Builders’ Association’s People Choice Award, and a finalist for the Canadian Home Builders’ Association’s Community Development Award, the third phase of South Coast Village, by Marz Homes, is sure to be a show-stopper.
