One of U.S. President Donald Trump’s campaign pledges was to renegotiate the “unfair” North American Free Trade Agreement. Earlier this year, the Trump administration slapped tariffs of up to 24 percent on Canadian softwood exports to the U.S. Not surprisingly, first quarter exports to the U.S. were down 16 percent. Has anyone noticed that oversupply has helped lower lumber prices here at home?!?
