Kate + Co is pleased to be participating in The Furniture Banks Chair Affair gala for our 4th year in a row. The Chair Affair is a fundraising auction of exquisite celebrated designer chairs to help those in need find warmth, dignity, and stability in their new homes.
When selecting the pieces to reinvent for this years event, what drew me to these pieces was their clean lines and retro undertone.
My piece this year is all about feminine luxury. I selected luxe fabrics and paint in a soft grey, mauve, champagne and gold palette. Fabrics were supplied by Alendel Fabrics – the grey velvet adds softness and texture while the metallic leather adds an elegant sheen. Painting by Distinctive Custom Build Inc – the white and grey with mauve undertones add a silky feel in a cabinet grade quality.
Starting this project I searched around our studio for inspiration. I landed on this leatherette – Tonic by Alendel Fabrics and I loved how it pairs with their Bridgewater super durable faux velvet. What inspired me about these items is their soft tonal quality and the romantic and elegant feel they exude while still providing the ultimate in durability.
Luckily we have amazing trades at Kate + Co; Distinctive Custom Build who Supports the Furniture bank painted these pieces for us in the Benjamin Moore colours – AF665, Angelica and 2118-40, Sea Life.
I hope to see you at this year’s event on November 3rd at Casalife, Etobicoke, as always it will be a fun evening celebrating good design, entertainment and helping furnish homes for those in need.
