A couple in Toronto’s pricey Forest Hill neighbourhood sued nearby neighbours for copying the look of their custom-built home. They were seeking more than $2.5 million in damages against the owner for the “strikingly similar design” including the exterior stonework and the shade of blue used to paint the window and door frames. The plaintiff argued that you can’t copyright “Tudor-style.” The case was settled out of court.
