According to reports, the long overdue renovations to Sussex Dr., home to Canada’s prime ministers and their families, will cost nearly $40 million by the time they’re done. Required work on the building includes updating the wiring and plumbing, and replacing the out-dated windows and exterior doors. The tab also includes $11-million to rebuild the poolhouse our current PM’s dad had installed.
Prime Minister Trudeau’s family is currently living in a building known as Rideau Cottage, across the road from the official residence.
