Geranium announces 40 years of Giving initiative

In a year that marks four decades of creating superb master-planned neighbourhoods and innovative new homes, Geranium is enhancing its ongoing commitment to contributing to the well-being of the broader community. The company has announced 40 years of Giving, a special initiative that will form one aspect of Geranium’s annual charitable donations. For each new Geranium home sold in 2017, a donation of $150 will be made in the name of the homebuyer, to a charity chosen by them from a list prepared by Geranium.

“Community building and good corporate citizenship is high on our list of priorities and we strive to be a good neighbour as well as a quality builder,” says Geranium president Boaz Feiner. “This philosophy is ingrained in our corporate culture and, for the past 40 years, we’ve participated in numerous community-based events, sponsored fund-raising activities, donated to charities and non-profit organizations directly, and acted as a resource for community groups wherever possible.

“To mark this anniversary, we are honouring the families who enable us to continue to do what we do best. This could be another record year for our new home sales, which means the total amount will be upwards of $25,000.”

Using information available from Charity Intelligence ( the team selected 12 charities as potential recipients of this year’s funds, as determined by the homebuyer. Charity Intelligence collects and analyzes information on transparency, accountability and the need for funding and operating efficiency as a service to donors.

The short list represents a broad range of charities operating in Ontario and internationally in the categories of health, social services, youth, the environment, animal welfare, sport and recreation. They include:

  • The Alzheimer Society of Ontario
  • AMICI Camping Charity
  • Doctors Without Borders
  • FoodShare
  • The George Hull Centre
  • Homes First
  • The Jane Goodall Institute
  • The Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals
  • The Special Olympics Ontario
  • WaterAid Canada

On the housing front, Geranium will be launching for sale new neighbourhoods in Aurora and Pickering in 2017, as well as starting construction of the sold out Trails at Cardinal Point, and VISTA Flats & Towns in Stouffville.


Opening this summer, Allegro in downtown Aurora will offer a collection of magnificent family-sized detached homes on 52- and 61-foot cul-de-sac lots within an established neighbourhood stretching from Bathurst Street to Yonge Street. Among these features, prospective homebuyers will find designs that offer four or five bedrooms each with ensuite or shared ensuite baths, kitchens and breakfast areas open to spacious great rooms, living and dining rooms either combined or separated, mud room entries from two- or three-car garages, second floor laundry rooms and media rooms. Expansive sliding glass doors from great rooms or kitchens lead to Geranium’s signature covered loggias overlooking the back garden. Thoughtful optional features may include outdoor kitchens, elevators, dog washing areas, coffered and waffle decorative ceilings and extra fireplaces.
